Focuses on developing communicative proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will learn basic vocabulary and sentence structures for use in essential everyday situations, as well as aspects of Chinese culture and society related to the course materials. CHIN 401 and CHIN 402 taken together satisfies the foreign language requirement. Cannot be taken separately without permission of the instructor.
