Community Impact Entrepreneurship:
This course empowers students to apply entrepreneurial strategies and mindset to support an existing, mission-driven social enterprise that addresses a social problem, or unfulfilled social need, at the community level. The goal is to develop a meaningful, relevant action plan that can be leveraged by the client organization to make progress on a strategic initiative or campaign that propels the organization's purpose.
Student teams will act as consultant groups to the client organization to research and analyze the social issue in relation to the community/region and address the organization's mission. Teams are challenged to investigate local and federal resources, identify beneficial partnerships/allies, propose a funding plan/specific fund sources, and develop a compelling advocacy package/pitch for the project. Teams will focus on developing an actionable plan to make a positive impact for the entrepreneurial, community organization with the purpose of helping build a better place for a better tomorrow.
