Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Stores 

Building a DTC Store:

In a no code world, anyone can build up their own store and reach millions. Doing that 

profitably requires a learning curve which we’ll try to accelerate throughout this course! 

 

Direct-to-consumer business fundamentals are intertwined with behind-the-scenes technical elements to demystify the process and set DTC concepts up for success.  

Student teams will build their own direct-to-consumer (DTC) stores. Under the guidance and direction of an industry professional, teams apply start-up how to’s and DIY methods to make a retail concept a reality.  

 

Work-ready capabilities: Critical/strategic thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, adaptability/flexibility, technical fluency. 

 

Work avenues:  

  • User experience: user interface, conversion path optimization, customer relationship management/customer care, retailing 

  • The Black Box: platform development & maintenance, fulfillment, business management 

  • Demand Generation: profitably managing the purchase funnel, ROAS and ROI.
