Additional Course Details: 

This course will provide students with a theoretical and technical understanding of cutting-edge scientific instrumentation at the Biotechnology Innovation Center. Summer 2024 will focus on high-performance liquid chromatography. A combined lecture and lab experience will explore topics of substance purification and identification at a molecular level. Undergraduate Prereq: CHEM 651/653.

This course fulfills 2 credits of the Lab Techniques requirement for Biotechnology majors. Students will need to complete 1 additional credit of Lab Techniques if they take this class towards their Lab Techniques requirement unless they have already completed this requirement.  Advanced biology courses in the Biotechnology major must be 3+ credits to count as “courses” for the major.

It is the study of business in the context of past times that makes this course different from a course in business methods or institutions. Through the study of the past students develop their critical thinking and writing skills.
