Students understand and appreciate all aspects of the availability of personal genomic information and tools including scientific, medical, social, ethical and legal issues. Students have the opportunity to analyze their own individual genome to one of the publicly available genomes to learn about all various aspects of this emerging field. The course will be an entirely online format.

This 700-level advanced course is appropriate for those of senior status (or advanced juniors). 

This course is open to students from both campuses who have met the prerequisites. This lecture course runs in an asynchronous format. There are no online meetings; instead, modules are completed with assignments due weekly.  You will need a reliable internet connection for this course and the ability to navigate various online websites and animations successfully. A laptop or desktop computer is needed to complete the asynchronous work in this class.
