This course will build on Arctic Research Methods I, training students in methods needed to conduct Arctic convergence research projects. Techniques will including ground-based and remote sensing measurements of snow, ice, soil, vegetation, and built infrastructure. Students will also learn communication and education approaches necessary to facilitate collaboration between Arctic communities and researchers.

Course description: Participants will explore combinatorial investigations while they work on concrete problems that encourage them to search for patterns and to create and confirm/disprove conjectures about more general situations. The course will explore a variety of mathematical contexts all tied together by Pascal’s Triangle and binomial coefficients. There will be opportunities to share solutions and make connections to the precollege curriculum.

This new course provides students with a conceptual, ethical, and practice framework for social work in healthcare. Specifically, this course will address an overview of the US healthcare system, knowledge and theoretical foundations of social work in healthcare settings, health care social work practice skills and competencies, and social work practice in various healthcare settings! There will be opportunities to interview current medical social workers and including many of our UNH Social Work Alumni!
