The advanced provider will develop knowledge, skills, and competencies to perform advanced clinical impressions, diagnostic differential diagnosis, and management of individuals with mental disorders across the lifespan. By using evidence-based research, bio-psychosocial formulations and best practice, students will acquire knowledge of the diagnostic criteria of the DSM-5. Students will also focus on the foundational elements and strategies used to care for individuals with mental health disorders using psychotherapeutic modalities. Part 1 of a 2-part course. Prereq: NURS 983 with a minimum grade of B-, NURS 977 with a minimum grade of B-.
