The NP will develop knowledge and competencies for psychiatrically-focused assessments and diagnostic reasoning. Students will synthesize and apply psychotherapeutic theories and concepts to further their immersion into the development and progression of assessment of mental disorders with knowledge and skills to perform advanced clinical differential diagnoses of individuals with mental disorders across the lifespan. Students will acquire and apply knowledge of the diagnostic criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders V (DSM-5).
