Additional Course Details:

English 401H urges you “to use writing for academic, professional, and personal goals” and to take on “the intellectual and ethical responsibility to construct meaning—to frame interpretations, to explore multiple perspectives, to defend assertions, and to relate the new to the known.”1   In particular, we’ll look closely at images and issues, weighing perspectives and writing to illuminate, and we’ll practice strategies to “build” writing across genres and purposes in order to produce rich, thorough, innovative essays with a confident voice.
