Additional Course Details:

This course introduces students to the practice of statistical consulting. Prerequisites:  Knowledge of intermediate applied statistics, in particular:  linear regression, design of experiments, generalized linear models such as logistic regression, and:  firm knowledge of the basic principles of statistical modeling and "constructions" such as hypothesis tests and confidence intervals.

NOTE:  This course will be streamed live via ZOOM whenever possible.  Students are expected to participate during classtime.  There will be reading assignments and also open-ended case studies for which students will need to develop solutions.  The course will be discussion-driven to a large extent.  Towards the later part of the course, students will be assigned to actual consulting projects with clients (UNH faculty and/or graduate students) either individually or in small teams.  Results from these projects will be discussed in class with students as discussion leaders.  Client interaction and subsequent in-class discussions may be done on-line or face-to-face depending on the project and on the general situation with COVID-19.  There will be a final take-home project.
