This course explores healthcare finance from the perspective of managing healthcare services. Students will be provided the knowledge and understanding of financial principles to make decision making in the current economic state of healthcare delivery. Sound fiscal responsibilities will be taught within the context of legal and ethical considerations, and students learn to examine financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in order to make administrative decisions regarding operations and resource allocation. By the end of this course students will have an understanding of how healthcare strategic financial planning, quality, and the business case intersect.
