Required course for the B.A. in Business degree, or equivalent, and should be taken early upon entry to UNHM. This is a beginning course on computer technology, specifically microcomputer applications. Emphasis is on (1) using computers to manage information for personal and professional applications and (2) the impact of computer information technology on today's society. Software applications used include: word processing, spreadsheets, database, and graphics. Independent lab activities are a major part of the course content. No prior computer experience is required. No credit if credit has been received for COMP 411. This course is held completely online.

This course covers Marketing demand applications. Business has undergone enormous change into the world of data and applications, in order to track customers’ initial interest through measurement of their actions/purchases and brand loyalty. In this course, you will learn about: audience segmentation, following audiences’ varied actions, into the ‘funnel’ of probability of closing final sale, and the steps in between.  A variety of applications and techniques will be studied, most importantly salesforce.com and google analytics, among others. 

Prerequisite courses are: BUS 400 and BUS 610. This course earns credits toward the marketing concentration, and the business minor (with advanced permission of program coordinator).

This course counts fully for the marketing concentration and is offered instead of BUS 661: Integrated Marketing Communication in F18. (Both BUS 661 and BUS 685 will count toward the marketing concentration).
