This course establishes the fundamental techniques for conducting acoustic measurements, in air and in water, and interpreting the signals. Through both theory and practical application, students will explore acoustic signal analysis and examine connections between the signals and the environment that produced them. Topics covered include sampling, spectral analysis, acoustic sensors, calibration, and arrays. Basic technical coding (in any language), undergraduate level statistics, undergraduate physics required prior to taking this course.
