The wealth of data available and the speed of information in the finance world has created a new environment for traders, wealth managers, and investment bankers. This course covers many topics related to this changing environment where technology and finance have become closer than ever before.

Access to a Windows operating system is required for this course to run SAS and Stata. Mac users will either need to have access to a computer running Windows, use a University computer lab computer, or have a split hard drive on their Mac such as Parallels.

Concepts learned and applied in this course can be used in managing other asset portfolios.
Asset management involves managing the business investment to meet the specific objectives of ownership. Participants will learn how to administer and renegotiate management contracts, real estate development process, evaluate capital expenditures and manage their execution, and monitor expenses to reduce costs, and different valuations methods.
Students will learn how to benchmark a property's revenue and expense performance against the market, perform asset risk analyses tailored to current market conditions, and evaluate various refinancing opportunities to reduce debt costs or free up capital for other investment opportunities.
