Gaining perspective on teaching with technology benefits from understanding the intersection of technology and instruction through the lens of social context, practices, and digital tools and devices. This course focuses on teachers' development of personal positions on the use of technology in presenting course material and designing their courses to incorporate the effective use of technology. We will begin by examining attitudes, affordances, and challenges associated with the use of technologies in teaching. Next, we will explore instructional technologies that have the potential to benefit learning outcomes based on course objectives that you set. The final project will be to develop a practical strategy that incorporates technology in a course that you will teach in the future. Readings will examine central questions about technology, learning theories, educational change resulting from the use of technology in teaching and provide practical approaches for including technology in your instructional activities.
