Reducing Cyber Risk
In this course, students will learn about various cybersecurity frameworks and their importance in helping organizations create a company-wide cybersecurity program to reduce cyber risk. Using the NIST Cybersecurity Framework as reference, students will act as information security auditors and help a client evaluate their current security state.
Student teams will conduct a series of informational interviews with various stakeholders throughout the course to obtain an understanding of a company's current security posture. Using the information obtained, teams will work throughout the term to prepare a security plan, as well as a plan of action in order to achieve a set of milestones established for the client.
