Additional Course Details: 

Artistic ASL and performance Interpreting are unique. This course will examine the process of preparing for various types of performance; creating your own artistic ASL work, teaming with a Deaf artistic language coach to translate and interpret English as art into ASL. The course will end with a showcase of work presented to the students and faculty in the program. This course will be entirely in ASL. Pre or Co-requisites – ASL 532 and INTR 540.

Gives students the opportunity to gain supervised interpreting experience. Students engage in actual interpreting assignments and receive support and mentorship from a professional interpreter, enabling them to integrate knowledge, theoretical understanding, and skills acquired in the interpreting program. Students work closely with on-site supervisors (interpreters) in addition to attending a biweekly seminar with the UNHM field coordinator.
