You?ll discover selected prose, poetry, plays and films from across the English-speaking world throughout history. Whatever your major, this course develops skills in research, writing, and critical thinking. Prerequisite (with minimum grade of C) for declaring one of the four majors or two options offered in the English Department.

In Fall 2022, all sections of ENGL 419 will study Art Spiegelman's Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel, Maus. Students will receive a complimentary copy of this book courtesy of the College of Liberal Arts at the start of the fall semester to be used during class discussion of this seminal work.
