OT 855 Level II Fieldwork, I, online discussion is a co-requisite course that accompanies OT 854 and OT 856: Level II Fieldwork. Students respond to instructor-led discussion prompts as well as to postings of their classmates. The online discussion provides the opportunity for students to relate fieldwork experiential learning to all areas of UNH coursework including: mind-body systems, health-and-human systems of care; assessment; intervention; documentation; evidence-based practice; client-centered and occupation-centered practice; and application of research to practice. Students engage in on-going discussion about professional identity and the transition from student to professional as they describe and discuss fieldwork challenges and successes across a variety of practice settings. Over the past 400 years, activities in outdoor recreation an education have reflected Americans' spiritual aspirations, imperial ambitions, social concerns, and demographic changes. This course will give students the opportunity to learn how Americans' experiences in the outdoors have influenced and been influenced by major historical developments of the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th, and early 21st centuries. Labor Relations in the Public Sector.  The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the development, theory, and practice of labor relations and collective bargaining, with emphasis on the public sector.  Students will become familiar with the development of collective bargaining in the private and public sectors, public sector collective bargaining statutes and legal procedures, and the interplay of public employee collective bargaining with politics, public policy, budgets, and civil service rules. 

The course will be entirely asynchronous, although we will have optional Zoom meetings at the following dates and times:  Tuesday, June 7 from 12-1:30 pm; Wednesday, June 8 from 6-7:30 pm; Tuesday June 28 from 6-7:30 pm; and Wednesday, June 29 from 12-1:30 pm.
