This is an interdisciplinary and writing-intensive course. It is perfect for majors in Economics, Marketing, History, Environmental Conservation, Sociology/Anthro, and Women’s Studies (gender is often discussed). The course focuses upon how mass consumer society was built, how economists historically understood consumption, and concludes with powerful critiques of mass consumption.
