Additional Course Details:

Thinking like an Entrepreneur aims to develop and foster an entrepreneurial mindset in students, with a focus on creative problem solving and opportunity design. Students will learn to identify and analyze entrepreneurial opportunities in any creative field using a powerful tool, the Opportunity Analysis Canvas (OCA), which distills vast amounts of research in psychology, sociology, and business into a practical how-to guide for aspiring and active entrepreneurs. At its core, the OCA contains a powerful argument that anyone can be a successful entrepreneur by thoughtfully examining themselves and new venture opportunities. In addition, the course will also help students identify their personal entrepreneurial talent and competence utilizing the Entrepreneurial Mindset Profile ® (EMP), which is a statistically validated detailed entrepreneurial mindset assessment tool, based on sound research design and psychometrics, and benchmarked against a large sample of highly successful practicing entrepreneurs.

The course has no prerequisites. It is appropriate for sophomore (or higher level) students in any discipline excited to discover and hone their creative problem-solving and entrepreneurial talents.
