A highly analytical course, intended to provide practical tools for analyzing and valuing a company’s common stock. It covers major applications of financial statement analysis and focuses on the implementation of Discounted Cash Flows model to value a firm. Throughout the 8-week term students will work on a project using a real world company: learning the core business and competitive advantages, inputting and analyzing financial data, computing ratios and making sense out of time trends and rival comparisons, justifying forecasting assumptions to predict future cash flows, and finally producing a target per share price so that it can be compared with the market price for stock investment decisions (buy, hold, or sell).
