Additional Course Details: 

December 27 2019 – January 16, 2020: 4 week hybrid Experiential Learning course at the Wentworth by the Sea, a Marriott Hotel & Spa. This 4-Credit Course meets @ the Wentworth by the Sea for 6-8 hours per day. This Marriott property is approximately 20 minutes from UNH, in the Portsmouth area. Students are provided complimentary double occupancy guest rooms and two meal per day at the Hotel during the days of on property training. Check in will be on Wednesday January 1st and check out on Thursday, January 16rd.

*Week 1 is an online course taught by Professor Moore – covering the principals of Hospitality Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management – the course meets for 90 minutes Dec 27th and Dec 28th .

*Weeks 2, 3 & 4 are held at the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel with hands on training for 3 days in each discipline.

This course offers an interdisciplinary introduction to the Eternal City and its role in Italian culture from the Middle Ages to the present. Together, the online and on-site components of the course allow students to compare their theoretical historical, social and artistic knowledge of Italian culture (acquired through readings, films and online lectures) with experiential knowledge gained through first-hand exposure to contemporary Rome. The course combines an online academic class with on-site experiential learning though a fourteen day trip to Cuba.
