Additional Course Details:
This special topics course will offer students an overview of contemporary debates about social movement theory and the increasingly important role of media activism. While the first half of the course is structured around theoretical and empirical texts, the second half of the semester will be spent working with local organizations with the aim of producing collaborative allied research projects as the final project for the class.
