This course introduces students to the variation in the Spanish spoken today in Spain, Latin America, and the U.S. Students will improve speaking and listening skills through close study of pronunciation and language variation (geographic, social class, age, gender/sexuality, etc.). Students will deepen their understanding of language and culture through examining the relationship between language variation and language change in the Spanish-speaking world. This class is conducted in Spanish.
