Topic: Introduction to Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis

This course provides an introduction to systematic reviews and meta-analysis. Students will learn the stages of conducting systematic reviews aimed at identifying, appraising and synthesizing all the relevant studies on a given topic. The focus will be on the quantitative synthesis of empirical studies in a systematic review using meta-analysis. The course will demonstrate the use of tools to organize literature searches and conduct screening and coding of eligible studies. Students will also learn to use the statistical programming language R to conduct meta-analysis. No prior experience in R is required for the course. The course will consist of weekly readings, lectures, activities, and R training.
