Comprehensive, introductory course emphasizing the cellular metabolism and the structure and function of proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, and lipids.
Section Comments: Biotech majors should enroll in this section and not BMCB 658A; the BMCB 659 lab is required for Biotech majors. Other majors may choose this section if they wish to complete the BMCB 659 lab as well.

Sophomore and Junior status students are encouraged to take this biochemistry course as soon as practical, concurrent with CHEM 652/654 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is not intended as a senior-level course. Reach out to the instructor with any questions.

This lecture course runs in an asynchronous format. There are no online meetings; instead, modules are completed with assignments due weekly. There will be an in-person final exam on the Manchester Campus, which is the only in-person requirement for the lecture course.  You will need a reliable internet connection for this course and the ability to navigate various online websites and animations successfully. A laptop or desktop computer is needed to complete the asynchronous work in this class. Mobile devices are insufficient to complete the work.
