Topics include taxonomy of species important in environmental engineering processes; microbial metabolism, interaction, and growth kinetics in environmental treatment processes; biogeochemical cycling in water; and effects of environmental parameters on environmental engineering microbial processes. Laboratories focus on microbiological methods and laboratory-scale biological treatment experiments. Lab.
