Establishes the basis for future application of linguistic principles. Explores different areas of linguistics including morphology, word formation and verbal inflection. Issues in syntax and semantics are analyzed both in isolation and in terms of their relationship to each other. Students will be equipped with the skills necessary to apply these linguistic concepts to actual Spanish language data and to achieve a better understanding of the structures governing the language they are studying. Conducted in Spanish.
