Title: Special Topics in the Scientific Study of Groups and Bias

Description: This course will discuss social identities, social groups, and social bias, with a primary focus on gender- and race/ethnicity-based bias. We will read scientific articles on the psychological factors that can cause and influence social bias. We will also discuss recent controversies (e.g., “what is implicit bias?”) and challenges (e.g., interpreting complex interactions) in the scientific study of social inequality and bias.
