This course examines financial markets and financial intermediaries, and their role in creating and maintaining economic efficiency. It analyzes the performance of banks and other financial institutions and reviews the functions and measurements of money. It also examines and assesses the use of monetary policy tools, targets, and goals within the context of current economic conditions. NOTE: ECO 580 International Economics is recommended.
