Bionics is the study of living systems with the intention of applying their principles to the design of useful technology for mankind. Students learn strategies to discover bio-inspired technology. The student investigates the fields of bio-inspired cyborgs, defense and attack mechanisms in biology leading to military applications including non-lethal weapons, bio-inspired sensors including brain-computer interfaces, bio-inspired robots, and animal and plants that generate energy for technology.
