Examines the processes that drive climate variability and change with an emphasis on the influences of human activity on climate and the impact of climate change and extreme climatic events on society. Introduces students to the methods used to observe, monitor, and model the climate system to inform climate change mitigation and adaption strategies. Writing assignments focus on technical writing and communicating climate science to the public.
