Additional Course Details:

In this course students will focus on ways to minimize the losses and maximize the gains associated with normal aging and aging with disease. Students will explore possible solutions to real-world problems for older adults. Topics such as malnutrition, loneliness, changes in physical and cognitive abilities, falls, death/dying, indoor and outdoor activities for frail older adults, and caregiver burden will be discussed.

This course is taught in a hybrid format - class meets in-person from 1:00 – 2:50 on Thursdays, instead of the typical 3 hours per week. Therefore, there are additional expectations outside of class-time, for example viewing media such a TED Talks, mini-lectures, assigned readings, and asynchronous assignments.

This course may be used to fulfill the 0-credit Capstone requirement for senior Psychology majors and Neuropsychology majors needing a 1-credit capstone. If interested, please contact alison.paglia@unh.edu.
