Visual Culture: How to See the World

How to See the World by Nicholas Mirzoeff will be used as our textbook since it offers a clear and accessible introduction to the study of visual culture. The field of visual culture is a relatively new and contemporary field that overlaps with film and television studies, art history, advertising, digital/media studies, photography, graphic novel/comics studies, and any other field that foregrounds the visual. This course will approach writing from the perspective of visual culture.

Students signing up for this section should have an interest in visual culture and need to use Canvas/myCourses regularly throughout the semester.
