An introduction to the concepts and theories of international development and global governance. Examines the global infrastructure for humanitarian relief, development assistance, and human rights advocacy. Focuses on the complementary nature of humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts. Explores how international organizations promote human security (community, economic, environmental, food, health, personal, and political security) in fragile states.
Section Comments: Tech requirements: microphone & webcam. Students not in the GCHS program must have permission from the GCHS Coordinator Melinda Negron-Gonzales. Short 8-week format. Firm deadlines for assignments spread throughout the 8 weeks.
