Through experiential activities, personal reflections, readings, and group and independent projects, students will gain an understanding of models and theories underpinning adventure education. The course includes content such as adventure education history, outdoor leadership, personal growth, group development, risk taking and risk management, educational philosophy, and learning theory. Students learn to apply theoretical principles to practice in a variety of settings. Prereq: OUT 550 or permission of the instructor.
