Additional Course Details:

In this course, we look closely at the evolution of German soccer culture in the period from around 1871 until now. While soccer culture is our lens, we will explore social theoretical questions regarding how we define such things as national and collective identities, patriotism, how inclusion and exclusion unfolds in sports cultures, etc. Course delivery is in English and you need no previous knowledge of soccer.
