Explores the interrelatedness of human security domains: economic, food, health, environmental, personal, community, and political security. Examines how national actors (state institutions and civil society) and global development actors create and cultivate the foundational governance structures necessary for durable peace and security. Topics include disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR), security sector reform (SSR), women, peace and security, and more.
Section Comments: Tech requirements: microphone & webcam. Short 8-week format. Firm deadlines for assignments spread throughout the 8 weeks Note early start date. There will be optional bi-weekly online-synchronous Zoom meetings on Tuesdays from 1-2pm. Cross listed with GCHS 830.
