This course reconstructs the surprising past of the place we call New Hampshire. Beginning with the 17th -century encounter between English and Native people, it runs to the present. Literature, documents, photos and films provide access to New Hampshire's changing natural environment, its rural life, industrialization, politics and recent struggles. Writing intensive.
