Additional Course Details:
The world we live in has drastically shifted to a ‘virtual’ world. Working remotely and distance learning has changed the face of interactions and communication. Now video is where we connect for both personal, social, and professional parts of our lives. How does this impact our work as ASL/English interpreters when it comes to our work? This course will discuss the overall language industry trends, technology development, regulations, ethics, best practices, and Deaf Community perspective and experience. We will engage with lecture, group discussions and the opportunity to hear from various stakeholders related to video interpreting. Pre-requisite ASL 531 or permission from instructor.
