Introduction to the design of timber structures. Structural properties of wood. Determination of horizontal and vertical loads. Horizontal and vertical load-resisting systems. Design of horizontal diaphragms, shear walls, beams, and columns. Bolted, screwed, and nailed connections. Prereq: CEE 680 or permission.

I Will teach this class to both in-person and remote students.  You may take this course 100% online.  I expect all students to attend at the published class times when possible.
This class counts as a design course and as a structural area course.

Booklist

Students will be required to purchase the NDS timber design code. I'll be explaining how to get the documents at the student rate once the course begins. No textbook will be required.
