Special Topics/International Social Work.

This course is designed to introduce students to International Social Work. It will provide an opportunity to learn about and recognize the impact of globalization on many issues with which the profession is concerned: climate change, human rights, the status of women, racism, development, aging populations, family breakdown, transnationalism, child abuse and neglect, education, and poverty. Students will gain knowledge about the relationship between domestic and international social welfare issues. The course is an elective for Social Work students and is recommended for all students interested in or considering a career in international work in human services or related fields.  This course is a 3 credit course.
