Marketing Strategies for the Creative Economy

If used correctly, social media platforms can serve as powerful tools for a creative professional's career launch and growth. But the seemingly innumerable options available, and equal number of potential pitfalls, make navigation a treacherous proposition.

This course is designed to solve questions and learn the tools to construct a successful marketing strategy: what social media strategy will be most effective for me, based on my unique goals and capabilities? Which tools should I be embracing, and which ones should I avoid? How can I ensure that the investments I make in marketing, from design to launch, will be successful? What metrics should I be using to gauge my performance?

Students will be asked to create a project to market, whether it be in the arts: an exhibition, performance or personal portfolio; or a project based in entrepreneurship or administration within the creative economy. This Marketing experience is valuable and relevant to a wide range of students from all majors, as well as professionals who need marketing experience.
