Atomic structure, bonding material transport, mechanical properties of materials, solidification, phase diagrams, solid state transformations, and corrosion and oxidation. Laboratory exercises are carried out to demonstrate the basic concepts of the course. Prereq: one semester of introductory chemistry with a lab or equivalent; MATH 425. Writing intensive.
