Figures and Faces

This course will explore the use of the figure/body and faces/portraits as expressions of culture, gender and identity in contemporary sculpture. Students will work with models and casts to develop sculptures based on direct observation as well as original, interpretive work. Students will engage a variety of materials and processes such as the modeling and firing of clay, plaster life casts with the optional integration of cast and fabricated metals and found objects.

ARTS 667 is open to all students who have complete Arts 567: Introduction to Sculpture or with the instructors permission.
