Introduces developmental biology, examining basic developmental mechanisms and their evolutionary contexts. Principles and tools of the trade, overview of major developmental events in various phyla, current areas of research and other special topics. Labs include different ways to observe development (from low- to high-tech), and work with selected live material. Prereq: BIOL 411 and BIOL 412 or equivalent.
