Additional Course Details:

The objective of Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) II is to provide graduate human service students and professionals with the knowledge and skills needed for successful practice in the specialty area of Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH). The course builds on PCBH 1 and will focus on developing practice skills and strategies needed to effectively address the challenges of integrated primary care services for persons, populations, and organizations with health, mental health, and substance use problems.

The course uses seminar and team-based approaches to develop integrated and interprofessional practice skills. The course will include guest speakers who are experts from the field who will address current topics in integrated care. Students will also use cases and experience from their own practice to apply material from the course. A team-based approach will be used to empower students to process and solve complex bio-psycho-social problems at the individual, organizational, and population levels.
