This course is intended for speakers of other languages who have already achieved a 500 score on the TOEFL (or an equivalent score on another standardized test of English proficiency). Students will learn to read academic materials, write coherent essays on academic topics, and participate in group work and class discussion. Students enrolled in ESL 440/640 are also eligible to enroll in one University of New Hampshire course. Permission required. May be repeated to a maximum of 8 credits.
